This page covers torre.sh, the hosted version of Torre. If you run Torre on your own computer, everything stays on that computer and none of this applies: the app sends nothing to us.
What we keep when you sign in
- Your Google account: its id, your email address, your name and profile photo, so we know which games are yours. We never see your Google password.
- What you do in Torre: games you play or import, puzzle attempts, lesson progress and settings. They live in a folder on our server that only your account opens.
- When and how you play: when you sign in, how long you play, whether you use a phone or a computer, and your country (from Cloudflare, only the country). It helps us see how torre.sh is used.
- Imports you ask for: when you import from chess.com or Lichess, we fetch the public games of the username you enter.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and a second one lasts ten minutes during Google sign-in. The public pages also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to count visits. Torre has no ads and no ad trackers.
Who sees your data
Nobody else. We do not sell or share it. It is stored on a DigitalOcean server in the United States and passes through Cloudflare on the way to you. Google handles sign-in under its own privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Contact us (open an issue on GitHub) from the email you sign in with and we will delete your account and everything in it within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Torre is open source, so you can read exactly what the app does on GitHub.
