Install Torre
The easiest way is to add Torre to your device. Want your games on your own computer? Run it with Docker.

Add Torre as an app
Torre gets its own icon and opens like an app. Choose your device for the right steps.
- Open Torre in Safari.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Turn on Open as Web App, then tap Add.
- On macOS 14 or later, open Torre in Safari.
- Choose File → Add to Dock (or Share → Add to Dock).
- Click Add. Torre will appear in your Dock and Applications.
On an older Mac, use Chrome or Edge and choose Install from the browser menu.
- Open Torre in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu, then Install app or Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm to add Torre to your home screen.
- Open Torre in Chrome or Edge.
- Choose Install from the address bar or browser menu.
- Confirm. Torre will open in its own window.

This app uses your torre.sh account and an internet connection. To keep games on your own computer, use Docker below.

Docker runs Torre and Stockfish locally. No Vela is needed.

Install Docker
Get Docker Desktop for Mac or Windows, or Docker Engine for Linux, and start it.

Start Torre
Open Terminal or PowerShell and run this command:
docker run -d --name torre --restart unless-stopped -p 127.0.0.1:1886:1886 -v torre-data:/data jhd3197/torre:latest3
This local installation is separate from your torre.sh account. Games saved here stay on this computer.
