Is Torre free?
Yes. There are no ads and no paid plan, and the code is free software under the GNU GPL v3. If Torre helps you, a star on GitHub helps other players find it.
Do I need an account?
Only to play here, so your games and progress are saved: sign in with Google, with no new password to make. The chess guides and the famous games are open to everyone, and on your own computer Torre needs no account at all.
What can I practise?
104 lessons from the rules to endgames, 8k+ puzzles in 36 themes at your level, 470+ bots to play from 32 countries, and a review of every game with Stockfish that turns your mistakes into new puzzles.
What does torre.sh keep about me?
Your name, email address and the games you play, so they are there next time. Nothing is sold or shared; the privacy policy lists everything and how to delete it.
Who makes Torre?
Juan Denis started it as the chess app he wanted for himself. The story is in Why Torre, and every page and lesson is in English and Spanish.
